My name is Francisca Castro and I’m a visiting professor in political science at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the International Security and Development Center (ISDC) in Berlin.
I’m also associated to the ERC project Participation & Representation in the Digital Age.
I obtained my PhD in Political Science from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where I worked as a Doctoral Researcher in the Chair of International Politics.
My research interests are intrastate conflict, protests and social movements, state repression, democratic backsliding, and authoritarian legacies.
